Empack and Logistics & Automation finalise preparations to open the doors of their first edition in Bilbao
- A total of 70 exhibiting brands and 50 speakers will meet on 1 and 2 March at the BEC to celebrate, together with more than 2,000 professionals, the first meeting point for the packaging, logistics and transport sectors in northern Spain.
- The event will host the 8th Euskadi Logistics Conference, organised by the Euskadi Mobility and Logistics Cluster, as well as different contents, success stories and debates in collaboration with IVL, UniportBilbao, Packnet, Icil and Basque Food Cluster and with the participation of experts from Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Aclima, Eroski Group, Uvesco, Kaiku, Ulma, Tekniker and Tecnalia, among others.
27 February 2023. Empack and Logistics & Automation Bilbao, the first meeting point for packaging, logistics and transport professionals in the north of Spain, is preparing to fill the BEC with innovative proposals this week, on 1 and 2 March.
This fair will bring together the latest packaging, packing, automation, storage, logistics and transport solutions from the leading companies, organisations and institutions in the north of Spain. It will do so with a complete format that includes an exhibition area, with more than 70 brands represented, 2 congress halls with more than 50 speakers, and different demonstration and networking activities, to offer visitors a useful and complete visit.
This fair will bring together the latest packaging, packing, automation, storage, logistics and transport solutions from the leading companies, organisations and institutions in the north of Spain. It will do so with a complete format that includes an exhibition area, with more than 70 brands represented, 2 congress halls, and different demonstration and networking activities, to offer visitors a useful and complete visit.
Programme of contents of Empack & Automation Bilbao
The organisation has published on its website the contents that will be offered in its two congress halls. On the first day, the Fronius Hall will host the VIII Euskadi Logistics Conference, organised by the Euskadi Mobility and Logistics Cluster and whose aim is to raise awareness of the new management models and technologies applied to the supply chain. To this end, representatives from companies such as Wimbitek, Smartlog, Nortegas, VPO Ingeniería, Ulma Handling System, AR Racking, Dashser, XPO and Distribuidora Farmacéutica de Gipuzkoa will be present.
As Key Speaker of this first edition, we will have Daniel López Bárcena, Director of Logistics Iberia of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, who will explain his project to reduce and offset the carbon footprint in the distribution of its products, with the aim of being carbon neutral in 2040.
This same room will also host presentations and round tables on the latest advances in automation, with INSER and Omron; on battery charging with Fronius, and on how to tackle negotiations and increase margins in the Supply Chain, with a presentation given by Mondragon Unibertsitatea. There will also be a debate on the key aspects of the environmental sector in the Basque Country, with a round table discussion with the president of ACTE, Ramón Vázquez, among others.
Topics more closely linked to packaging, such as circularity in packaging, the challenges of the current regulatory framework and Ecodesign as a factor for reducing the environmental impact of packaging in the Basque food chain, will be addressed in collaboration with Packnet and the Basque Food Cluster at round tables with the participation of Ulma Packaging, Tekniker, Tecnalia, Delicass, Gaiker and Udapa, among others. The Igarle Group, Aclima and Packaging Consulting will also be present.
The second conference room, the Transport & Delivery Room, will be sponsored by Celeritas, and will feature an attractive programme in collaboration with UniportBilbao, Empresa Exterior and the Basque Institute of Logistics and Sustainable Mobility.
IVL-LEE will address the “Present and future of land freight transport in the Basque Country” with the participation of Asetrabi, Guitrans, Tubacex, UniportBilbao, Euskotren; as well as the “Current and future situation of goods transport in cities, with combustion vehicles”, with a round table moderated by Carlos Zubialde, with the participation of the Eroski Group, Herko Alternative Trucks, BeGas, Stef and Kaiku.
On the other hand, Empresa Exterior has organised a debate to discuss “the keys to exporting to the USA in 2023” with experts from Banco Sabadell, Orbea and MKM International Business Consulting.
In addition, the operations director of Progeco Vigo and ISEC teacher, will give a masterclass to discuss the “Safe transport of goods in containers: How to stow and lash the cargo“, and on the other hand, there will be a round table on digitalisation experiences organised by Tookane, where we will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from representatives of two leading companies from Gipuzkoa, Uvesco and Salto Systems, in their respective segments and with very different operations: home delivery of food and the distribution and export of electronic material to companies.
To complete the programme of this room we will also have presentations on “new developments and innovation on 3PL”, by Celeritas; “The importance of TMS in transport” together with Hedyla and “Visibility in the Supply Chain reaches the next level” with Fieldeas.
INNOVATION TOURS,
In addition to the exhibition area and the specialised conference area, the event wants to give professionals the opportunity to immerse themselves in the future of the sector and to this end, has designed a series of guided tours for small groups of visitors (20 people per Tour). These tours will take visitors around a selection of stands to discover the most innovative products or solutions of the edition by theme in less than 1 hour.
